 Amaya Modern Mexican Opens at

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Uniting Coastal Flavors and

Electrifying Entertainment on the Strip

The thrill of Las Vegas collides with the soul of modern Mexican cuisine.

Amaya Modern Mexican has officially opened its doors at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, redefining the city’s dining and nightlife scene with bold cuisine, innovative cocktails and mesmerizing entertainment. Helmed by Michelin-starred Chef Jason McLeod, Amaya brings the vibrant flavors of Mexico’s coast to life in an exhilarating setting where culinary artistry meets pulsating energy.

Guests are transported to a sensory playground as DJs spin electrifying beats, live performers dazzle, and the restaurant’s design evokes the lush, tropical elegance of the Yucatán Peninsula. The result is an unforgettable atmosphere where diners are encouraged to sway to the rhythm, dance in their seats and immerse themselves in their surroundings.

The menu, curated by Chef McLeod, showcases his mastery of flavor and his deep connection to Mexico’s culinary heritage. Signature dishes include:

●        Amaya’s Surf & Turf – A show-stopping feast featuring an 8 oz. Wagyu filet, 20 oz. dry-aged New York steak and chili lime lobster tail, paired with a trio of salsas and warm tortillas.

●        Birria Short Rib – Slow-cooked to perfection and served with corn purée, pickled onions and cotija cheese.

●        Whole Grilled Angry Fish – An audacious blend of mustard frill, fermented chiles and garlic butter sauce, served with grilled flour tortillas.

●        Lobster Enchiladas – Enveloped in a rich, creamy lobster sauce.

Citrusy ceviches, zesty aguachiles and fiery tiraditos round out a menu designed to awaken the palate and celebrate the spirit of communal dining.

Amaya offers an extraordinary collection of aged tequilas and mezcals, celebrating Jalisco’s multi-generational heritage. The cocktail menu showcases inventive libations, including:

●        Mano a Mano – Flecha Azul, agave syrup, Seville orange bitters and cocoa bitters.

●        Shark Bait – Sonrisa Platino rum, Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, lavender syrup, grapefruit juice, lime juice and agave syrup.

●        Smoke & Mirrors – Producer Ensamble Mezcal, Fernet, Ardbeg whisky, vanilla syrup and hint of chocolate.

Chef McLeod’s culinary philosophy reflects a 30-year career of global exploration and innovation. From earning two Michelin stars at RIA in Chicago to embracing the coastal traditions of Mexico, McLeod’s passion for culture, flavor, and connection is at the heart of Amaya’s menu.

The restaurant’s design, crafted by Peter Max Bowden and the team at Petermax Co., mirrors the energy of the cuisine. Rustic elegance and lush, tree-canopied spaces create an environment that is equal parts refined and evocative across the 7,180-square-foot restaurant, bar and lounge.

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao presents its ambitious artistic programming for 2025

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao presents its ambitious artistic programming for 2025

Today, Friday, January 17, the Director General of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Juan Ignacio Vidarte, and the Museum’s curatorial team formed by Lekha Hileman Waitoller, Geaninne Gutiérrez- Guimarães, Marta Blàvia and Manuel Cirauqui have revealed the keys to the eleven exhibitions that visitors will be able to enjoy in 2025.

The 2025 artistic programming will be starting in mid-February with Tarsila do Amaral. Painting Modern Brazil, a retrospective analyzing her fertile output from the 1920s to the 1960s. February will also see the opening of Masterpieces on Paper from Budapest, a selection covering seven centuries of prints and drawings from the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in the Hungarian capital. Spring will mark the start of in situ, a new cycle presenting ambitious projects by contemporary artists created specifically for the Museum's spaces, activating the architecture or standing in harmony with the distinctive features of the building's iconic galleries. The inaugural show will present Refik Anadol, an internationally recognized video artist and a pioneer of artificial intelligence aesthetics, with Euskaltel as a collaborator; the cycle will continue with Mark Leckey in the late fall, whose exhibition will address the multiple sources incorporated within his production, such as sound, sculpture, and performance.

In April, Helen Frankenthaler: Painting Without Rules, sponsored by Fundación BBVA, will explore the artist’s revolutionary approach to painting through approximately thirty works produced between 1953 and 2002, situated in dialogue with paintings and sculptures created by other artists of the same era. In June, Barbara Kruger, sponsored by Occident will focus on the US artist's recent output, highlighting her engagement and expertise in working in different architectural contexts through site-specific installations that plunge visitors into environments filled with texts. In fall, the Museum will unveil the abstract forms and optical illusions of Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, while December will see the presentation of Arts of the Earth, sponsored by Iberdrola, an exhibition forming part of the Museum's commitment to environmental sustainability, inviting a re-reading of environmentally focused art from recent decades. The Film & Video gallery will feature a subjective journey through the video and performance output of Vito Acconci within a staging designed by Basque artist Sergio Prego; followed by Sky Hopinka's Fainting Spells, in which the artist explores the creative connection with living indigenous cultures.

Finally, on the third floor the public will be able to enjoy the exhibition Works from the Collection of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, sponsored by BBK, which in the fall of 2025 will host a selection of works from the Rodenstock Collection on long-term loan.

Bob and Mike Bryan, who will be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame next year, and Grand Slam champions Luke and Murphy Jensen will be joined by DBO singles champions Sam QuerreyJack Sock, Xavier Malisse and Tommy Haas in the three-day Legends competition.

They finished as the year-end No. 1 doubles team 10 times and won Olympic gold together in 2012. They will play in the DBO Legends event for the fifth time.

The Jensens brought the fun to doubles when they stormed to the 1993 French Open title and have entertained fans ever since. During their career they played in Delray Beach nine times, reaching the doubles final in 1997. Since retiring, each has worked in broadcasting and coaching. “Dual Hand Luke” Jensen can play with either hand, even serving ambidextrously. This will be their fourth year playing together in the Delray Legends event.

Sock retired from the pro tour in 2023, having won the DBO singles title in 2017, the doubles title in 2013 and 2018, and reached a career-high ranking of world No. 8. He won four Grand Slam doubles and mixed doubles titles and Olympic gold and bronze. Sock has won singles and doubles titles at all top-level events held in Delray Beach, from the USTA National 12s and 18s to the ATP Tour event. All that’s left for him to conquer here is the Legends event, where he is making his debut.

Querrey will play in his third Delray Beach Open Legends event after retiring from the ATP Tour in 2022. He won the DBO title in 2016 and played the event 12 times. A three-time semifinalist at the Australian Open, he also reached one Wimbledon semifinal. Over the course of his career, Haas defeated Agassi, Djokovic, Federer and Sampras at least three times each. He is now the tournament director of the ATP 1000 Masters event in Indian Wells, Calif.

The player Haas beat in a third-set tiebreak to win the 2006 title, Malisse, is making his debut in the Delray Legends event. Malisse is tied for most appearances in Delray Beach while he was on tour with 13. He holds the record for most match wins in tournament history with 26, is one of only five players to win the Delray Beach singles title twice (2005, 2007), and reached a tournament-record five total singles finals. He also won the doubles title in 2007 to become one of three players to win the singles and doubles in the same year. Malisse is currently coaching Top 25 player Alexei Popyrin.

In the ATP 250 event that starts Feb. 10, two-time defending champion Taylor Fritz will attempt the first three-peat in tournament history. He’ll be joined by 2024 finalist Tommy Paul. Fritz’s successful year continued in September when he reached his first Grand Slam final at the US Open. He became the first American man to reach the final there since Andy Roddick in 2006. Paul won three titles this year and reached the Wimbledon quarterfinals. He briefly overtook Fritz twice as the No. 1 American, and has equaled his career-high ranking of world No. 12.

Fritz and Paul teamed up to win the doubles Olympic bronze medal in Paris this year, and Paul will join Fritz on the US team at the Davis Cup Finals next month.
